In 2008 Citizens for the Environment in the Galilee (CFE) began working on the Industrial Research Project which focuses on the Western Galilee. To date CFE has (1) GIS mapped the industrial zones in the Western Galilee, (2) obtained pollution records from government officials and factories and (3) hired a renowned chemist to analyze the data. CFE will publish an Environmental Status Report of Industries in the Western Galilee.

 CFE plans to expand the focus of the Industry Research Project to include the Upper and Lower Galilee regions as well. CFE plans to carry out the same tasks as in the Western Galilee component and complete the Project with an Environmental Status Report of Industries in the Upper and Lower Galilee. The goal of this project is to reduce industrial pollution in Northern Israel by facilitating factories to operate within their pollution limits.
